Leadership and Its Impact on Classroom Management Practices
Classroom management is one of the most important aspects of teaching practice. Effective classroom management has a direct impact on the learning process of the students and on the good climate in the classroom. Besides discipline, efficient classroom management encompasses the creation of a warm and challenging climate that can help learners achieve their educational goals. Though classrooms are managed by teachers, educational leadership influences classroom management to an equal extent. School leaders and administrators set clear expectations and provide the level of support and resources for teachers to effectively enact classroom management.
This thesis explores the impact of leadership in relation to classroom management, demonstrating multiple styles, strategies, and levels of support systems of leadership that influence the ability of teachers to effectively manage classrooms. This research will explore where leadership and classroom management intersect in a deliberate attempt to discover what is working and what could be improved in educational institutions to advance both teaching and learning experiences.
