The Impact of Reward Systems on Operations Management
ABSTRACT
This research study examined the impact of reward systems on operations management. The study utilized a web-based survey instrument to acquire data from 500 gainfully employed individuals across Saudi Arabia. To examine the data, descriptive and inferential statistics were used. The findings showed that several variables, including but not limited to the reward system's design, the type of rewards used, the frequency and timing of their distribution, the clarity of the reward criteria, and the degree of employee communication about the reward system, all affect how effective the system is. The research findings demonstrated that employees who possess a cognitive appraisal that the incentive structure is equitable and impartial exhibit heightened levels of motivation and superior performance relative to their counterparts who lack such a perception. Furthermore, it was found that the dispensation of rewards was correlated with elevated degrees of job contentment and a higher propensity for personnel to remain with the organization, as opposed to their counterparts who received their rewards infrequently or after a prolonged period. The findings were organized according to the research questions and objectives, and the implications were outlined. The research also discussed the recommendations for enterprises seeking to enhance their operational efficacy by implementing incentivization frameworks.
