From Fragmentation to Integration: Developing Ghana's National Occupational Safety and Health Framework (GHANOSH-F): A Comparative Analysis with the United Arab Emirates
Occupational safety and health (OSH) remain essential to sustainable national development, economic productivity, and worker well-being. Despite significant legislative developments, Ghana's occupational safety and health governance remains fragmented, with overlapping regulatory responsibilities, inconsistent enforcement mechanisms, and limited coverage of the country's extensive informal economy. These challenges have reduced the effectiveness of existing occupational safety and health interventions and constrained national efforts to build a coordinated, preventive safety culture.
