The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Advancing Sustainable Procurement: A Study of Organizational Readiness and Implementation Challenge

Purpose: This study examines the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in advancing sustainable procurement performance, focusing on six organizational and technological factors: AI-driven decision-making, robotic process automation (RPA), data quality, organizational readiness, ethical AI implementation, and technology integration capability.

Methodology: A quantitative research design was employed using a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire administered to 100 procurement professionals, IT specialists, and sustainability officers across manufacturing, healthcare, retail, and energy sectors. Purposive sampling targeted respondents with at least two years of experience in AI-enabled procurement.
