A Study of Leadership Style Analysis Using The Enneagram Personality Types Assessment For Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise (MSME) Business Leaders in Indonesia

This study explores the relationship between Enneagram personality types and leadership styles among micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) leaders in Indonesia, focusing on how personality-driven leadership impacts business performance. Utilizing the Enneagram Personality Types Assessment and the Leadership Style Questionnaire, the research examines the distribution of personality traits across MSME leaders and analyzes their correlation with transformational, transactional, participative, and autocratic leadership styles. The findings demonstrate that specific Enneagram personality types, such as Type 3 (The Achiever) and Type 6 (The Loyalist), are closely linked to transformational and transactional leadership behaviors, respectively, which significantly influence business outcomes including innovation, operational efficiency, and employee satisfaction.
The study highlights the importance of adaptability and emotional intelligence in leadership effectiveness, particularly in the dynamic and resource-constrained environment of MSMEs. By understanding their personality traits, leaders can tailor their leadership approaches to meet the specific demands of their businesses, enhancing both team performance and long-term business success. Additionally, the research underscores the need for personalized leadership development programs that integrate personality assessments to help MSME leaders leverage their strengths and address potential challenges.
