How mass & social media, cultural & traditional norms within societies, and educational biases affect the development of critical & independent thinking

Bias is an innate tendency in human beings that occurs in almost every aspect of our lives. It is defined as the prejudice for or against something or someone, which is often perceived as unfair or discriminatory. Biases often influence the way people think and behave, leading them to conform to certain societal norms and traditions. This is particularly evident in situations where people want to feel that they belong to the majority or a social group, such as in the workplace, family, or among friends. The fear of rejection or ostracism from one's social group can force individuals to comply with certain thoughts and actions, even if they do not believe in them. This is known as peer pressure and can lead to biases that affect critical thinking and decision-making.
